Get everyone on board!

Direct Messaging helps pharmacies improve communication with their patients. Most people read text messages in less than 5 seconds, and 76% prefer a text to a phone call!

  • Tell your patients about the new way you can communicate with them.

  • Make sure everyone at the pharmacy is familiar with sending and receiving messages.

  • Post about your new communication tool on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Staple print marketing to the front of your prescription bags.

"We were very motivated and especially concerned about refills that were not being picked up. By deploying Digital Pharmacist's 2-way messaging tool, a job that would have taken our techs 2 to 3 hours twice a week, now only takes an hour." - Jay Patel, PharmD

Add your patients

We know how much of a hassle it can be to play phone tag with a patient while trying to collect information. Instead of spending time on the phone, you can quickly send your patients a message.

You're able to upload a patient list into the Messaging platform. You'll need to export your patient list from your Pharmacy Management Software via CSV. If you have Rx30, ComputerRx, Speed Script, or SRS, we can load your patient list for you; fill out this form to get started.

"We were hoping that staying off the phone would help us communicate with patients more easily, so we were really motivated to try 2-way messaging. So far, our community really likes the messaging tool. Our younger patients, especially! We were even surprised to see our older patients using and enjoying it, too." - Kaylee St. John-Bean, PharmD

Utilize templates

Templates make it easy to send the same requests for information to multiple people. We created some standard templates that you can edit. You are also able to create your own custom templates.

"Another great thing is that we are able to customize the templates that get sent out. The automated systems always have the same message. We like being able to tweak the language for different situations." - Matt McGowan, PharmD

Send your first message!

Whether it's to let them know their prescription is ready, collect updated insurance information, or ask about their symptoms, you can communicate with the patient on their timeline and get a speedy response.

"Patients prefer messaging over phone calls. They can respond and explain why they haven't picked up their medication or let us know if they prefer to have their medication delivered. We have seen around a 10% improvement in our return to stock numbers as a result of 2-way messaging." - Matt McGowan, PharmD
